Spellbinders’ Jack of All Trades by Jaycee Gaspar

Hello friends! I am happy to share three cards featuring products from Spellbinders’ Jack of All Trades by Jaycee Gaspar Collection. I had so much fun creating with the Reversible Royal Court and Pip & Rank die sets and two of the press plate sets, Deluxe Deck and Shuffling Sentiments .

Check out the VIDEO for the trifold card (next three photos)!

This card was super fun to make!

TRIFOLD

  • The trifold card base was created with two top folding, A2 sized card bases. The length on one of the card bases was trimmed down by about 1/16 of an inch and adhered to the back of the inside flap of the other card base.

  • The Deluxe Deck press plate was used to create three panels. The plate was inked with Distress Oxide Ink Faded Jeans. The panels were trimmed to 4“ x 5 1/4“ and the corners were rounded with the 1 - 2 Punch: Corner Rounder & Notch.

  • Three additional panels were cut to the same size and the corners also rounded. These panels will be used to create the face of the cards.

  • The Reversible Royal Court die set was used to create the images for the face of the cards. For each card, the image was cut two times. The bottoms of the tunics have a diagonal cut that allows them to be aligned to create a double image.

  • The upper left and lower right hand corners were marked with the rank and suit of each card using the Pip & Rank die set.

  • The panels were adhered to the trifold card base. Each of the face of the cards has a back created with the Deluxe Deck press plate adhered directly behind it. For the Jack, this panel sits at the back of the card.

  • A gold gel pen was used to trace around the face cards to allow them to stand out from the background.

  • Three sentiments from the Shuffling Sentiments press plate set were inked on white card stock. The coordinating dies were used to cut the sentiment and the flag ends. The sentiments were assembled and adhered to each of the face cards over the diagonal line where the tunics meet.

  • The centre of the Kings’ shields were finished off with an embellishment from Orchid Color Essential Gems.

DELUXE DECK

  • Cream cardstock was pressed using the Deluxe Deck press plate. It was trimmed to 4” x 5 1/4” and the corners rounded with the 1 - 2 Punch: Corner Rounder & Notch.

  • This panel was adhered to a cream, A2 sized card base that also had the corners rounded.

  • Three rectangles were cut measuring 1 1/4” by 1 3/4” from cream card stock. The corners were rounded.

  • Pip & Rank was used to cut the A’s and suits from black and red card stock. The A’s were adhered to the upper left corner on all of the cards with an additional A on one card in the lower right corner. Each card was identified with the suit in the centre of the card. The cards were adhered together overlapping the bottoms to form “a hand “. They were adhered to the card front with foam squares.

  • The sentiment from the Shuffling Sentiments  press plate set was inked on white card stock. The coordinating die was used to cut the sentiment and black sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked and adhered below “the hand “.

PIP & RANK

  • Five rectangles were cut to 1 1/4” by 1 3/4” from black cardstock. They were adhered to a cream panel measuring 3 3/4” by 5 1/4”. Starting at the top of the panel, the two black rectangles were adhered to either corner. The next rectangle was adhered to the centre of the panel abutting its two top corners with the bottom, centre corners of the black rectangles above it. The final two rectangles were then mounted to the lower corners on either side of the panel.

  • Pip & Rank  was used to cut the ranks and suits from black and red card stock. A number or letter was adhered to the upper left and lower right corner on all of the cards including the cream rectangular spaces between the black ones. Each card was identified with the suit in the centre of the card.

  • The panel was mounted on black foam and then adhered to a card base measuring

5 1/2” x 4”. The card base was cut a 1/4” narrower than an A2 sized card so the border around the panel was consistent.

  • The card was finished off with the foam mounted sentiment from Shuffling Sentiments.
