Spellbinders’ Let It Snow Collection Featuring Playful Penguins & Frozen Flurries

Hello friends! I have a pair of super sweet cards featuring Simon Hurley’s Let It Snow Collection by Spellbinders. The Playful Penguins Die Set is a perfect complement to the cover die, Frozen Flurries Die Set. I love those penguins so much … filled with so much character and ‘adorability’! I know! I just made up that word!

  • Two panels of Bristol Smooth Card Stock were cut oversized to accommodate the card front panel and sentiments for each card.

  • The panels were ink blended randomly with Distress Oxide Inks; Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Shaded Lilac.

  • The panels were cut with the outline die from the Frozen Flurries Die Set and the word WINTER from the Four Seasons Die Set. This main sentiment was also cut from black sheet foam and stacked.

  • The outline die in conjunction with the snowflake detail dye were used to cut two panels of black card stock.

  • The secondary sentiments from Winter Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set were pressed with black ink on the ink blended panels. The sentiments and black foam were cut with the coordinating die. The secondary sentiments were stacked.

  • The Penguins and accessories from the Playful Penguins Die Set were die, cut and assembled.

  • For the card with the full snowflake background, the panel was adhered to the ink blended one. The detail die cuts from the snowflakes were added to the negative space.

  • For the other card, the snowflake panel was die cut about 2/3 down using one of dies from Color Block Scenic Scape. It was then adhered to the top of the ink blended panel and the snowflake details added.

  • The landscape die was used to create a border. Black card stock was cut. The die was positioned underneath that die cut and run through the die cutter. The resulting border was adhered between the snowflake background and the foreground.

  • The foam backed sentiments were adhered to the card fronts. The penguins were mounted with foam squares.
