Spellbinders‘ Metamorphosis featuring Simon Hurley’s In Bloom

Hello everyone! I have another card featuring Spellbinder's Metamorphosis. This one includes Stained Glass Window and Everyday Sentiments in combination with a gorgeous die set, In Bloom. A happy and pretty birthday card!

  • Stained Glass Window was die cut from both gold foil and ivory card stock. The windows were offset with the ivory one on top of the gold.

  • The window was adhered to an A2, top folding ivory card base.

  • The flowers and leaves from In Bloom were cut from Bristol Smooth card stock except for the centres of the flowers which were cut from black card stock.

  • Using a small blender brush, the flower petals were inked with Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry starting at the base and fading out at the petal's edge.

  • The leaves and stem were inked with Mowed Lawn.

  • On the large flower, the ring around the black flower centre was inked Squeezed Lemonade and a touch of Mowed Lawn.

  • For the seed head, it was inked with Antique Linen and a touch of both Mowed Lawn and Frayed Burlap was applied lightly around the edges.

  • The flowers were assembled. The outer layer of a petal die cut on the smaller flower was popped up with low mount adhesive foam squares. The petals on the larger flower were hand shaped and the seed head adhered with a foam square.

  • The leaves and stem were adhered to the blooms before they were mounted on Stained Glass Window.

  • Everyday Sentiments has both script and shadow dies. The shadow was cut from vellum and the script from pink card stock..

  • After the sentiment was adhered, the card was embellished with Pink Opalescent Sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
