Hello everyone! I have some more cards featuring the Santa Lane Card Making Christmas Kit focussing on all the wonderful dies included ~... a full Santa and many accessory pieces! The die cut elements were paired with many other products included in the kit; Santa Lane Paper Pad, Die Cut Shapes and Sentiments, Red Glitter Foam Alphabet, Chipboard Stickers. Although putting the die cut images together does take a bit of time, the rest of the card comes together quickly.
I began with all of the die cutting; two of each element. As I cut, I kept all of the different die cuts sorted. The accessory pieces are easily put together but the full Santa did take some time ... lots of die cuts. The information guide provided in the kit was helpful dealing with its multiple die cuts. The Video Tutorial also focuses on putting Mr. Claus together!
I like the combination of rustic with a bit of glitz. For the background, I chose a buffalo plaid and two tartans for the backgrounds. The paper was die cut with Spellbinders' Essential Ovals . This die set also includes a really neat dot detail die. After the oval was cut, I centred this dot detail die on the oval to cut it. The same oval die was used to cut gold foil paper and black sheet foam. The patterned paper was adhered to the foil and then mounted on the foam die cuts. The stacked ovals were centred on an A2 sized card base provided in the kit.
The die cut images accompanied by some of the pre-made/cut images and sentiments were arranged on the ovals. Some of the elements were popped up with foam squares while others were adhered directly to the background to create dimensional scenes. The cards were finished up with gold sequins provided in the kit. Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew was added to the sequins.
