Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Die of the Month, Birthday Bliss, is so adorable and makes for a sweet birthday card. I have used these cute critters, a sloth and a turtle, to make two cards, one slightly more masculine (yes, even with pops of pink!) and a purple extravaganza! This die set includes a number of fun accessories and sentiment.
For November only, non-club members can join our clubs NOVEMBER 1st instead of waiting until the 6th! So, if you’ve been thinking of joining, now’s the perfect time! Woohoo!
The 4 plates to create the brushstroke design using the BetterPress of the Month, Paint The Town, were used with the BetterPress System.
BetterPress Pebbles A2 Panels were taped to the platen with tape rolled up on the backside. I love the soft grey background with the colour palettes chosen for each card.
The registration template was taped to the magnetic platform. Check out the video for a tip!
The plates were inked with Fresh Dye Inks. For the sloth card, Cotton Candy, Dark Chocolate, Paper Bag and Caramel Toffee were used. The panel was trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4” and adhered to an A2 sized, black card base..
Deep Iris, Soft Lilac, Midnight Violet and Lavender Fields were used for the turtle card. This panel was cut with a scalloped oval die found in the Large Die of the Month. The panel was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base..
The turtle was assembled with grey and plum die cuts. The body was adhered to a foam die cut with a foam square placed at top of the shell. The presents were also popped up with foam squares.
White Nuvo Drops were used to add dot detail to the small present and black for some shine to the eyes.
The sloth is easily assembled with the dark brown Kock body and craft coloured face mask. For some dimension, the sloth was it here to a black foam die cut. The black strings topped with pink balloons were adhered to the back of head.
White Nuvo Drops accents were added to the balloons and black to the eyes.
The sentiment die consists of insert and banner dies. The two dies together were used to cut card stock and the banner die alone was used to cut foam. The sentiment was stacked and was the first element to be adhered to the card base. The critters were than arranged above the sentiment.
