Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month for October & VIDEO

Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Die of the Month, Festive Friends, is so adorable and perfect for any occasion. I have used these cute critters to make a fun, POP-UP Christmas card! I love the penguin peeking over the bear’s head!

The registration window for this club will be available October 6 for current Club Members. New registrations are accepted on the 10th of October. Registrations can be completed until October 27th or while supplies last.

  • A panel of teal card stock was cut to 4 1/4“ x 5 1/2” and spattered with Splatter White Opaque Watercolor.

  • The critters were die cut from card stock except for the bear’s patterned paper sweater from Oh Joyful Day 6X6 Paper Pad. The bear’s head and muzzle were edged with Disress Oxide Frayed Burlap Ink. The critters were assembled.

  • The star wand was adhered to the back of the penguin’s head. Two additional stars were added on in a trail to create a handle for the pull-up.

  • The bear and the penguin were positioned on the panel to determine the amount of slide the penguin would have to pop up. Using a craft knife, a rectangle was cut from the panel.

  • A small foam square was placed at the base of the penguin. The backing paper was not removed from the other side of the foam square.

  • The string lights were adhered around the bear’s sweater and at the top of his head.

  • Foam strips were placed around the rectangle on the back of the panel. Foam was also placed at the base of the bear and part way up the sides.

  • The penguin was positioned in the rectangular slot by placing the foam square in it. The backing paper was removed from the foam strips on the bear and the bear adhered over the penguin sitting in the slot on the panel.
