Spellbinders’ Space Adventure by Simon Hurley

Hello friends! I have three cards to share with you featuring Spellbinders' Space Adventure by Simon Hurley Collection. These cards feature To The Moon, UFO Friend and Space Greetings die sets. A couple of backgrounds have been created with a 3D Embossing Folder, Starry Night, that has a coordinating stencil set. These products are so much fun!

Check out the VIDEO TUTORIAL!

  • A panel of cardstock measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” was ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Fossiized Amber and Picked Raspberry.

  • Four dies from Rainbow Slice Tunnel were used to cut different shades of grey cardstock. They were inked up with white pigment ink to give them a shadowy look to create streams of smoke.

  • Starting with the largest and darkest die cut, they were stacked on the lower, left corner of the panel and the excess trimmed off.

  • The panel was spattered with Splatter White Opague Watercolour .

  • The rocket from To The Moon was cut from dark blue and grey cardstock. It was assembled and orange and yellow flames were adhered to the base of it.

  • The rocket was adhered to the card front with black foam squares.

  • The sentiment from Space Greetings was cut from glitter cardstock and black sheet foam. The words were stacked and adhered to the card.

  • The stars included in the To The Moon set were cut from yellow cardstock and adhered in groupings of three to the card front.

  • The stars and yellow flames were coated with Yellow Stickles and the rocket trim with Nuvo Crystal Drops White Blizzard . Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew was added to the window.

  • The background was stencil with the coordinating stencil set for Starry Night . Distress Oxide Inks Dried Marigold, Kitsch Flamingo and Tumbled Glass were used. Both the background and white sheet foam were cut with the coordinating die. The background was stacked and it here to an A2 sized card base.

  • The Martians and planet from UFO Friend were cut from card stock that coordinated with the ink colours used in the background. When the Martians were assembled, the cardstock colours for the detail pieces were interchanged between them.

  • The planet and the Martians were adhered to the card front with foam squares.

  • The sentiment from Space Greetings  was cut from black cardstock and the shadows from white cardstock and sheet foam. The shadows were stacked and adhered to the starry background on an angle.

  • The white portion of the background was embellished with silver confetti. The confetti and eyes were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. Small dot details were added to the hats with Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White.

  • Black card stock was cut with the Starry Night die and the embossed with the 3-D embossing folder. White pigment ink was rubbed over the raised area.

  • The spaceship and Martian from UFO Friend were assembled and adhered to the starry, raised area of the card front.

  • Small dots of glue were added below the light beam that were sprinkled with gold glitter.

  • The sentiment from Space Greetings was cut from glitter and black cardstock and black sheet foam. The words were stacked and adhered to the card.
