Hello friends! Don’t you just love the warm glow of Christmas lights on a cold wintry night … one of the things I look forward to during the dark Winter season. Spellbinders’ Stitched String Lights Is a beautiful stitching die set that comes with two styles of lights. I chose the round ones rather than the traditional Christmas light for this card. I love it when options are available. A perfect set for creating either a seasonal or holiday card!
The lights from Stitched String Lights include both the round and the traditional bulbs and are created with an outline die, the stitching detail die that is used in conjunction with the first one and the die for the metal base. Teal cardstock was cut with the outline die. The two round dies together were used to cut vellum paper and the metal base was cut from matte gold cardstock.
The strings were cut from black card stock.
The vellum light bulbs were stitched with metallic teal embroidery thread and adhered to the card stock bulbs sandwiching the metal base.
The bulbs were temporarily laid out on Indigo cardstock, 4 1/4” by 5 1/2”, and, using a blending brush, White Pigment Ink was applied to create a glow where the bulbs would be adhered.
The panel was spattered with Splatter White Opaque Watercolor and adhered to a black, A2 sized card base.
The strings were adhered and the bulbs positioned over the white glow with foam squares.
The main sentiment from the Four Seasons Die Set was cut from blue card stock and white sheet foam. Using a paintbrush, adhesive was applied to the top half of the letters and chunky glitter applied. The sentiment was stacked onto the foam die cut.
The secondary sentiment from the Winter Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set was letterpressed using the BetterPress System and cut with the coordinating die.
