Hello friends! I have a pair of cards featuring products designed by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders; Mantel Village and Mantle Decorations. These are really beautiful die sets included in the Timeless Trees Collection.
The background for each card were stencilled with one of the stencils from the two piece set included in the Stencil of the Month. Working on teal and light blue cardstock panels, Distress Oxide Ink Peacock Feathers and a white pigment ink were applied to the stencil. Faded Jeans was stencilled on the other panel. The inks were used to blend the perimeter of the panels.
The sentiments were adhered first. The banner sentiment on one card is included in the Mantle Decorations die set. The letters were cut from red glitter cardstock and can spell out two different sentiments; Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
The sentiment for the second card is from the Christmas Greetings Die Set. The script is from soft blue cardstock and the shadow is gold foil. The shadow die was also used to cut foam to stack it on.
The mantels were cut from Kraft card stock and foam and stacked.
The stockings and garlands were adhered to the mantles. Small foam squares were added to the stockings.
The mantles were adhered to the card fronts positioning them keeping in mind the decorative elements that will be added on top.
The deer were adhered directly to the background. The houses on the other card were first mounted on foam die cuts first.
The little tree was cut four times and each one scored in the centre and burnished. The halves of each die cut were adhered together to form a 3D tree. The tree was mounted on the black stand, and then adhered between the two houses on the mantle.
Satin Gold Sequins were used for decorations on the mantle for one card and the garland for the other. The confetti was finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
The windows on the houses were given a glittery shine using Honey Gold Glitter Drops.
