Hello friends! You are going love Spellbinders’ new collection, Tunnel Scapes. It so unique and, quite frankly, FABULOUS. Today’s card features Underwater Tunnel and Underwater Marine Life. This tunnel card flattens for easy mailing!! THIS IS A FUN ONE TO MAKE!
Light blue card stock was cut 10 1/4” by 5 1/2”. This large panel will be used to create the concertina fold. Two smaller panels were also cut to 4” by 5 1/2” for the inserts.
The panels were ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers. The ink was applied randomly and white pigment ink was used to fill in any gaps and the inks were blended together with a clean blending brush.
The panels were spattered with water.
The large panel was scored on both sides at 1/2”, 1”, 1 1/2”, 2”. 2 1/2” and 3”.
Before folding the creased lines on the large panel, it was die cut with the largest tunnel die in the Underwater Tunnel die set. The two smaller panels were cut with the smaller ones.
Acetate was adhered to the back of each die cut opening on all three panels.
The score lines on the large panel were creased to form an accordion (concertina) on either side of the large panel.
The elements from both Underwater Tunnel and Underwater Marine Life were cut from various coloured card stock and highlighted with Ripe Persimmon, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers. The small waves were cut from White Glitter Card Stock.
Starting with the panel with the smallest tunnel opening, elements were adhered to the frame and the acetate. Using this panel as a guide by periodically laying it over the second panel, additional elements were adhered. Using this method, both the other insert panel and the large panel were decorated.
The panel inserts were slotted into the concertina folds and adhered. The tunnel card front was adhered to a dark blue, A2 sized card base.
The round sentiment adhered to the seaweed is from Bayfair Chipboard Embellishments.
