Hello everyone! It's a new release at Simon Says Stamp and I have a really sweet 'Pop & Twist' interactive card featuring BIRTHDAY BEARS ... done up as a welcome to a new baby! I have incorporated a few other products from a previous release to make this fun card.
This A2 sized card is jam packed full of fun elements so I used a sturdy card stock, Neenah Classic Crest 110lb, to create the card base. All of the panels were created from Bristol Smooth card stock. Four small panels measuring 2 1/2” by 3 1/2” are for the pop and twist mechanism. Three panels, one for the card front and the other two for the inside of the card, were cut to 4" by 5 1/4".
The small panels were stamped with the bears and balloons from the BIRTHDAY BEARS's stamp set with Simon's Copic friendly Intense Black Ink . The grouping of balloons image was stamped on one of the large panels. All of these images were also stamped on masking paper. The images were masked in preparation for stencilling using Pawsitively Saturated Inks. One large panel and the four small ones were stencilled with Dimensional Stars Stencil with Lemonade, Celery and Seafoam. The other large panels were stencilled with Layered Flower Stencils with Peachy, Lemonade, Celery and Limelicious. All of the images were Copic coloured:
Bears - E59,55, 50, R20
Balloons -YR65, 61, 00 / YG25, 23, 11 / Y18, 15, 11 / B05, 02, 00
Presents - YG25, 23, 11 / Y18, 15, 11
After the bears were coloured, the balloon string was stamped using an acrylic block and Post It Note Tape for some simple masking. Single words from Darling Baby were stamped with black ink and clear embossed. On the inside panels and on each of the balloons on the small panels. The panels were mounted on black card stock; 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" for the large panels and 2 5/8” by 3 5/8” for the small panels.
The card front and inside panels were adhered to the card base. Please see the video for instructions and measurements to construct the Pop & Twist mechanism. The small panels were mounted to the panel attached to the mechanism and it was adhered to the inside of the card. The card front was decorated simply with Balloon Trio and Baby Words die cuts. The two smaller balloons and the sentiment were mounted on foam. Black thread was attached to the balloon and pulled through the top of the second ‘b’ in baby before the elements were adhered to the card. The secondary sentiment from BIRTHDAY BEARS was stamped with black ink and clear embossed, cut with Sentiment Labels and matted with black card stock. A small bow was added to the base of the balloon strings and all of balloon images throughout the card were given a subtle sparkle with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.
